Cycling and coffee have become synonymous with one another over the years especially in Cape Town where you will find a group of cyclists at just about every coffee shop along the Southern Peninsula. Saturday and Sunday mornings are what every cyclists spends the week looking forward to especially if it's #NewBikeDay or #NewKitDay!
Vida e Caffè recently approached us to design their new cycling kit and from the first meeting with their team we knew we were going to be designing and producing something fantastic. After bouncing some ideas around it became clear that we both us and the Vida e Caffè team shared the same passion for design and high quality cycling wear.
In the world of corporate and competitive cycling it's common for brands to want to shout the loudest and be seen and this can often be at the expense of good design. There is a time and place for 'making your logo bigger' but a bigger logo does not necessarily make a brand more memorable.
Vida were not out to make their logo as big as possible when designing their new kit and the final design is something we, at RH77, are really proud of. We created a unique 'watermarked' pattern from the Vida crest which is an important brand asset used by Vida across their communication platforms and within their physical spaces. We believe we used the Vida e Caffè logo sparingly yet effectively while still striking a good balance between minimal branding and brand exposure.
The final result is a kit we are very proud.
